The HONDA50RUN MISSION STATEMENT  The Irish Website www.Honda50Run.com, which was established in May 2009 is about honouring the past and inspiring the future of everything got to do with the Honda 50 family and continuing a legacy setup by Soichiro Honda, (1906-1991 age 84years), their creator and designer.  While over 60 Million of the Honda 50 70 & 90 family have been produced since 1958, many examples of these historic and iconic bikes lay abandoned and forgotten in Ireland over the last 30 years, each telling the story of a country in the “olden” days before the economic boom of the “Celtic Tiger”. Today Honda 50’s are still inspiring the young in design and engineering, generating memorable experiences for the old who may not have seen them since their early childhood.  The websites aims are:  ·         To promote the adventures of Honda 50 outings in Ireland ·         To co-ordinate Honda 50 events throughout the country ·         To preserve and protect the Honda 50 ·         To demonstrate and display the Honda 50 at public events and to conserve them as a heritage asset. ·         To utilize the Honda 50 as a means of supporting charity events and fundraising in Ireland ·         To assist in the conservation to full working order of other Honda 50 Motorbikes of the 20th century.  ·         To advance the education of the general public, mechanics and bikers, in the Honda 50 Family, - their provenance, historical and social context, operational and    maintenance processes and procedures, for the benefit of the Irish motorbike scene, World heritage, historical and technical knowledge, conservation and restoration.  ·         To put Ireland on the World map as a country dedicated to the fun and enjoyment the Honda 50 brings to everyone.  ·         To set the standard other countries are beginning to follow with Honda 50 events.         Thanks for your support.
