Replacement Factory Keys for your Honda 50 Print
Thursday, 14 January 2010 17:36

www.hondakeys.comLost the Key for your Honda? Currently using a penknife, 1c coin or a screwdriver to start your bike? Looking for an original key replacement? Look no more, we bring you a great online service from the USA called Honda Keys.

www.HondaKeys.com are an American company based in Pennsylvania. Its run by Mark Troxwell and his customers are both local and international. Honda Keys is the main online source for New Old Stock (NOS) Factory Honda Keys. They specialize in original Honda factory replacement keys. There are 1000’s of keys in stock, correct pre-cut, numbered keys for 60’s and 70’s vintage Honda cycles. Keys are not code cut from blanks. Keys are not cut to order. Complete your restoration with the correct keys that came with the bike.

Most Honda keys will have a unique identifying number on the key itself. The most common being the “T” and “H” series. Ie T4145 or H6676 (Note: H-series will be the most common for Honda 50’s, check out their website for more details information on the key types with pictures).

Unfortunately there are quite a number of variations on cuts and head styles. Most are not interchangeable. Some are. The only way to ID them is visually. In some cases both styles can be supplied and the incorrect ones may be returned, or the lock itself may be sent in to verify the correct key.

There are also “E”, “NB” and “NA” series keys which are usually very early (Late 50’s and early 60’s) and are not as common. Some examples would be NA1234, NB4567 or E3456.There are also letter series keys, usually with 2 numbers. I.E “A11”, “D20”, “G30” etc. These were commonly seen on replacement locks during the 70’s on small and mid displacement machines.

If the keys are lost

The only alternative for missing keys is to obtain the key number from the lock itself. Most locks from the 60’s and 70’s have the key code on the face of the lock. The number can be obtained from the ignition, helmet, or steering lock. Late 70’s and later, the code numbers are on the back of the locks. Usually the locks must be removed.

A bit about Mark Troxell who setup this company……

My father rented out Honda 50's in the late sixties thus letting my twin brother Matthew and I stay out of trouble and roam the country in Pennsylvania with some of the other lucky friends who had Honda's as well.

The taste of Honda's stayed with us all our lives. After a brief departure from the smaller machines it wasn't until I had a part time job at the very Honda dealership my Father purchased the motorcycles at, Krause Honda of Emmaus PA, I became drawn back to my roots. Ron still had Honda 50's in the crate and promised me I would be able to purchase one in due time.

Keeping true to his word I ended up with a Honda 50 C100 and have since put on nearly 3500 miles on it. That sparked the Honda collection consisting of a CB750 Sandcast, CT90's, a 1959 C100 Supercub from RL Brooks of Maryland and Jerry Tamanini of Virginia. A Factory Honda Promo Crome Trail 55 C105. The C105 Crome Trail 55 took best of show in 2000 at the VJMC meet in Jefferson PA. It then was asked by American Honda of California to be at the Honda tent at Mid-Ohio.

The key's came by accident when a Honda dealership in the Pocono's of Pennsylvania had an auction
and from the box lot of nos parts I discovered hundreds of keys. Taking them to and from the show's everyone claimed I was nicknamed the key guy. The rest is History. fifteen thousand keys later it has become hondakeys.com and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I ride, restore and have even given many of my friends I grew up with the bug as well.

You Meet The Nicest People On A Honda still rings true. I hope more people can enjoy it as much as I have.

Customers just needs to fill out the order form on the website and I will promptly help in any way I can to find a nos factory cut key just like the one that came with the bike from new for his or her machine.
I just need the code off the ignition switch.

Thanks so much for the interest.

All the Best,

Mark Troxell
